  1.1   Preface TOP

OCG was designed to be a dominating team and a home to dedicated gamers. Since our creation we have proved why we are a cornerstone to the gaming community by providing quality servers and highly-competitive game play. We have stood atop every ladder we have played in and not many teams can say that. Our team members are some of the best to play the games we play and our team- work is second to none. We are committed to fair and cheat free gaming and work hard to keep that reputation on our servers and in matches. We wont claim to be the best. And we wont claim we are elite. Our record will speak for itself.
If you are new to online gaming, you will find that online teams are taken just as seriously as any other sports team. We are a team in every sense of the word. And we do take our gaming and team seriously. So if you are not serious about gaming, then this really isn't the place for you.
1.2   History of OverClocked Gamers TOP
The rise of OCG: November 10,2001
OCG was created by: Basic, Fear and GabooN
OCG was created in late November of 2001 by three gamers that were former members of a gaming group that concentrated on one game, Mechwarrior 4. The whole idea of OCG was to start a group to keep in touch with friends and to enjoy gaming online. One of the biggest focuses for OCG was playing multiple games, and participating in several leagues. All of us were in the same gaming group, Clan Crimson Scorpion and after almost 2 years of membership to that group we all grew tired of playing Mechwarrior all the time. So we left CCS and started OCG.
The Idea of OCG
The idea of OCG is that there be few rules and allot of games. There would a few games we play more than others, but for the most part we would play several games. Also, OCG would be a Democracy .Everything that needed changed, added, or removed would be voted on by all in the group. The three people that started the group would be able to overrule final votes in extreme situations, but 99% of situations would be solved by voting. This way there is no bickering over leadership and promotions.
The Name "OCG"
The name OCG came from all starting members enjoyment for speed. We all overclock some part of our system, whether its the CPU, Video card, Ram, or whatever. So it was just a logical choice to combine the 2 things we enjoyed. You've read how OCG came about so enjoy the site and if your good enough maybe you will be invited to join OCG. Until then I hope you don't have to play against us because we are some of most hardcore gamers you will ever meet.

  2.1   Respect TOP
Remember, respect is earned. While wearing our tag you are expected to conduct yourself properly in front of your teammates and opposing teams. Disrespect and ignorance are childish actions which negatively effect OCG will not be tolerated. Teasing and harassing is acceptable, as long as it doesn't offend anyone! When it gets to the point that someone is starting to get annoyed, then please use wisdom. You don't like it when someone pisses you off, so don't do it to them.
  2.2    Communication TOP
OCG has several ways to communicate to other team members. Forums, TeamSpeak, email, and instant messengers are all things we use often. All matches and practices will be posted on the forums, it is you're responsibility to check them, and and it is mandatory that you post whether or not you can make a match or practice so that the admins will have an idea of what they have to work with. If you say your going to be there then your expected to show up. Real life is something we all have. There will be instances when we all may miss matches and/or practices, this is perfectly acceptable. All of us play games for fun and competition. But we also enjoy the friendships we make so getting to know everyone is encouraged.
TeamSpeak is our primary means of communicating. You need to download it and familiarize yourself with this program. It is free and we have a fully dedicated server for TeamSpeak. There is always someone in TS. It is used in public game play as well as matches. If you need help setting it up, see an Admin.
  2.3    Recruitment TOP
OCG wants to attract the most talented, most respected players in online gaming. Therefore, we have created a unique and innovative area for recruits. Please note that we will not consider you for recruitment on your application alone. You must be active in our Forums, be on Teamspeak 3-4 days a week gaming with members, and and generally allow our members to get to know you.

Recruiting is a 3 step process.

1. Introduction.

2. Recruitment.
3. Membership

1.   The Introduction stage is just that. You need to register on the site and start introducing yourself to the team. Start playing
actively on our servers. At the current time, we have alot of regulars that frequent our site and servers that want their chance at recruitment. When we look at choosing a recruit, we approach a regular. Almost never do we have open recruitment.

You must also complete the Application form, ensuring you complete all questions to the best of your ability. This will help us to understand you, and your reason behind wanting to join OCG.

We think personality and attitude are key factors, not skill. We want a player who fits well with the team. Skill can be taught, chemistry cannot. If your looking for a guideline to be considered for recruitment, here is what we look for:

a)   Be active on the site and servers.
b)   Get to know all team members and spend time playing with each one.
c)   Do not pester an Admin if he isn't gaming. He is probably busy with responsibilities that need taken care of.
d)   Enjoy yourself. Having a good time is addictive. Everyone always hangs around the players that have a blast when online.

2.   OCG's recruitment process is standard issue. Recruits do not wear the team tag. They wear |OCG-R| before their nickname (ex. |OCG-R|Your Name).

Recruits will participate in every function a full member participates including competitive match play. This allows the OCG members to see if they work well with the new recruit. Recruits will also need to spend alot of time online during their recruitment. During this time the admins make sure that the candidate lives up to the team code. Meanwhile, the recruit also gets an idea of how OCG functions and whether or not he wants to stay at OCG.

*Note* A player will be a recruit for a minimum of 30 days. After 30 days there isn't any obligation by OCG to review a recruit or moved them up to the team.

3.   When OCG needs another player for their competitive teams, the admins will then promote recruits to member. The players that are consistent, skilled, and driven by a positive attitude will be offered membership to OCG.
  2.4    Promotions TOP
Every new member of OCG starts as just that, a member. There are only two things you can be promoted to in OCG and that is as a Team Captain, or an admin. The reason it is like that is because we want player equality. Too many times have we saw teams go down in flames because players thought they were other players bosses. That isn't the case. It disrupts the balance of a team. But we do promote players when positions are open.

A players seniority, Usage of email, forums, attendance at practice and matches, improvements in your playing skills, and leadership qualities are prerequisites if you want to be promoted.
  2.5    Member Responsibilities TOP
In order to sustain ourselves and continue to be a competitive force, OverClocked Gamers has issued the following rules for full members.

       1. All members are expected to post for every match in their squad(s). If you cannot make it, then post saying your not available.

To enforce this rule, the following penalties apply:

       - If a player does not post for a match two consecutive times, that player is placed on suspension for seven days.

       - If a player on suspension does not post for a match during their seven day suspension, that player's membership is revoked and they are then moved back to the recruitment area.

       - After a player is returned to recruitment, they forfeit all seniority at OCG. They start over and must prove themselves again.

This rule is black and white. If you are in OverClocked Gamers, you are expected to contribute. All admins are active and therefore lead by example. You are here to compete. To do that you need to be active. If you just want to be affiliated with OverClocked Gamers then the ReGZ is the place for you. We are operating under zero tolerance. Do not expect seniority or friendship to protect you because it will not. Lastly, posting in match threads does not guarantee you a place on the match roster. But we will do our best to keep things fair as always.

       - Also, all members are expected to be On Teamspeak if they are gaming online. This is to promote teamwork and to help build the team!

  3.1    RCON Etiquette TOP
With several people having access to the server admin program, RCON, there are some guidelines to follow to ensure everyone has an enjoyable time.

       1. Chain of Command WILL be followed. The highest ranking Admin in the server controls the server. If Undead is in the server, he outranks all Admin. He is the server guy. Then the Admins, Then Team Captains. And lastly, server monitors. This is the order we operate under. This is to prevent several commands going on at once; i.e...changing maps, restarting map,etc...

       2. Anyone having RCON access can change maps, kick players, use console voice, switch between friendly fire, and change gametypes. If gametypes or FF is changed, change it back before you leave the server, unless someone else with RCON is in the server and offers to change it upon their exit of the server. Not changing the server back to its default settings will result in a loss of RCON privilege.

       3. During practice, only Squad Admin/Team Captains will use RCON. This is to prevent confusion.
  3.2    Competition Rules TOP
These rules are to prevent confusion and makes the team more cohesive in front of the opponent.

        1. Every team member is to stay at spawn and listen while the match is set up.
        2. NO team killing or opponent killing.
        3. Only the team leader is allowed RCON.
        4. The team leader is the only one allowed to type in chat while setting up the match with the opponent.
        5. NO custom skins. You will use stock skins for every league match.
        6. NO TAUNTING. Not with the in-game scripts or by typing in chat.

Any negligence to these rules will result in suspension of your match play privileges

  3.3    Practice TOP
When a practice is held, every team member is expected to be there.

Always play the position you are asked, even when it sounds stupid or its not your best weapon or spot. We function as a team, not as individuals. After practice has gotten started, ask if you can try another spot if your unhappy with your assignment. Admin have the difficult task of preparing strategies and getting them executed. Save your ideas for the forums. It will only disrupt training by stopping practice to explain yourself and it will confuse teammates.
  3.4    Matches TOP
Try to be in voice chat at least 1 hour before an event. This is for role call and where positions and strategies will be explained. Pay attention because he may something that will affect you. At the beginning of each match the leader needs the floor to announce positions, get our team in order, and finalize settings with the opposing team. For him to get this done quickly, everyone needs to refrain from talking and tk'ing.
  3.5    Cheating TOP
OverClocked Gamers has a zero tolerance policy towards cheating. If you are caught cheating, whatever your excuse, you will be banned completely from all things OCG.
